Collocations: win or beat?

Cuando hablamos de competiciones/competir, es habitual usar el win para todo, como haríamos en castellano o catalán. En inglés no será así:

Win + competición/evento (ganar). (win-won-won)

Each time I play tennis with my dad, I win.

Team X won the game last night.

Beat + oponente (vencer a alguien). (beat-beat-beaten)

Each time I play tennis with my dad I beat him.

Team X beat team Y last night.

Entonces, será INCORRECTO:

Each time I play tennis with my dad I win him

Team X won team Y last night.
